What a concert!
What a success last Sunday’s Cowal Music Club concert with Joy Dunlop and her band turned out to be! With a very large audience, the hall had a real buzz about it, not least because the group were still carrying out sound/amplification tests until minutes before the starting time at 2.30pm. Well known as a television presenter, singer, dancer, journalist, and educator, Joy is a passionate ambassador of Gaelic language and culture, and is a fluent Gaelic speaker. Her ability

Outstanding Escocia Concert
On Sunday 3rd Decembere, Cowal Music Club's concert, given by the Escocia Duo, - Katrina Lee (violin) and Roberto Kuhn Versluys (guitar), was outstanding and highly memorable, due to the remarkable musicianship and abilities of the performers. Right from the first piece, the Centone Di Sonata by Paganini (no less!), the playing was highly impressive and confident, and the Duo were able to communicate very successfully with the audience, who in turn were highly appreciative

Baba Yaga Concert November 2023
Cowal Music Club were highly entertained by the duo Baba Yaga who taking advantage of the varied sound colours from the unusual combination of harp and alto and soprano saxophones, explored original compositions in the first half. From the start the enchanting Karen Dufour, saxophone and Gwen Sinclair, harp, cast their spell over the audience with their interaction of such differing instruments. It certainly was compelling listening and watching, if at times, difficult to und
