About the event

The Brassketeers are

  • Cillian Ó Ceallacháin - Trombone
  • Lauren Reeve-Rawlings - Horn
  • Mark O’Keeffe - Trumpet

The Brassketeers first met in the Orchestra of Scottish Opera. They each joined the Orchestra within six months of each other, Cillian is a principal player and Lauren is 3rd horn. Mark is the Principal trumpeter of BBC Scottish Orchestra.

Between them they have worked with many orchestras, both nationally and internationally. The list of orchestras includes the Philharmonia, Liverpool Philharmonic, the Ulster Orchestra, many of the BBC Orchestras, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Mittelsächsische Philharmonie and the World Orchestra for Peace.

The Brassketeers was formed three years ago as a way for them to express themselves further as players and chamber musicians. As the group has grown and developed, so has their passion for bringing this unusual, and very seldom heard combination of instruments to a wider audience. Recent projects include working with the education department of Scottish Opera to create an interactive performance for schools, and recitals for Music in Dumfries and Doune and Deanston Music Club.

Their repertoire includes a variety of genres including light music, jazz, baroque, classical and modern. See below for a list of some of these works.
