CMC is pleased to help promote a concert at Historic Kilmun this evening.

Historic Kilmun is delighted to be offering a special evening concert at 7.30pm on Friday  August 16th,  with  a wonderful programme of singing and organ music by Alan and Rebecca Tavener from Glasgow’s Capella Nova.

Alan Tavener (organ) was awarded the BEM in the 2020 New Year Honours List for his “services to choral music in Scotland”, and  is well-known as Director of Glasgow’s concert choir Capella Nova, which specialises in early music.  He is also known for his work at Jordanhill Church in Glasgow, where he formed a community choir and an ecumenical liturgical choir, and made a CD of solo organ music. Alan studied at Oxford University and was an educational research graduate of Strathclyde University, where he focused on the social and health benefits of group-singing.
